Random, I guess.

Different songs you've listened to at different times in your life can remind you so much of that particular time or place. They carry tons of emotional baggage with them, be it sadness or pain, laughter and joy, or a sense of longing.

When you suddenly hear that old song in a shopping mall or when someone else plays it for no reason at all, memories come flooding back like a river that cannot be stopped. Sometimes it's good memories and sometimes bad. Either way, that song is forever connected to that experience.

Personally, I find it quite irritating at times. You're trying to listen to a good song and all it wants to do is remind you of an old boyfriend or a place you never liked. And worse, it digs up all those feelings you took so much time to bury.

I was reminded of this when I was in the pharmacy, Guardian, today. They played an old song there that I was addicted to a long time ago. Guess what? I've downloaded it again and am listening to it now.

Time flies, so make the most of it while you can.

My Empty Bowl

I'm guessing some of you may want to know why I'm NOT a morning person thanks to my very elaborate blog title. So I'm going to tell/torture you. :)

1. THE BREAKFAST either sucks or it isn't there at all.
2. THE TIME I have to wake up at is ridiculously early because I live in freaking Kajang.
3. THE CHINESE CHANNEL that my grandmother puts on full volume every single morning doesn't bring a smile to my face.
4. THE VOICES I hear in the morning are either my mum shouting, or my grandmother arguing with my father.
5. THE ATMOSPHERE is not nice at all. There's this tension and we're all wondering whether my dad is pissed today or not.

So there. I might be being selfish and all whiny, but I dislike mornings. In my life, mornings are the bane of my existence. It is the time where I wish the most to be out of the house.

On the bright side, breakfast foods are THE BEST! :)

Here, there, everywhere!

I've learned something from that oh-so-publicized magazine photo shoot of ours. MAKEUP IS IRRITATING. Whenever you forget it's there and then proceed to rub your eye, it smudges. You can't touch your face at all! There's foundation there, concealer here, eyeshadow there, eyeliner there, lipstick and lip gloss here, what else is there? Oh yeah, mascara, blush, fake eyelashes, and those eyebrows so carefully penciled in. Sigh.

But strangely, I find it fun taking it all off. Using that fragrant baby oil and rubbing my whole face clean. I guess it's just that nice feeling you get when you've cleaned something really well and you feel like you've accomplished something great when it wasn't really that big of a deal. Haha. Yeah. So, don't expect me to be wearing makeup the next time I see you. In my opinion, it's a great big hassle and all that just to wipe it off again. (Though the wiping off part IS fun.) :)

Chocolate Chips

My weekdays and weekends are getting reversed. This past week, I spent every single school day out and the whole entire weekend at home. It feels a little weird. It's not good to go out all the time and I'm one great example of that 'cause I fell sick yesterday, and I'm still not completely well today. *sniffs* I'll probably have a funny voice when I come to school tomorrow. Sigh.

I just ate a ton of chocolate chips, which I really should NOT have eaten. DOUBLE SIGH. LOL.

Taking Something For Granted = Forgetting That It's A Privilege

This coming Friday is essay exam day again. I hope I pass because I don't like failing. No one does, and I apparently improved the last time so I hope I improve again. Anyway, back to the main topic. I watched 'The Dark Knight' on Thursday and most of what all the critics say is true. Heath Ledger (aka The Joker) does rule the entire show. Whenever he's gone you're just waiting for him to come back onscreen. It's kind of creepy actually, because he keeps killing all these people mercilessly and in real life, he's dead. Watching the movie also reminded me that when you die, (well if you're famous at least) your value goes up. =.= Does that mean that when you're alive people take you for granted and they forget that it's a privilege to have you around? Huh, kind of true. I take everyone in my family for granted and it's going to be really sad if they go first and I'm left here alone.

Update, update, update!

Why do people like to update their blogs just for the sake of it? I mean, you might as well not post at all. If you have nothing to say, nothing to shout about, nothing to vent, and nothing to make people laugh about, what's the use? I dislike people who do one-line posts that say "oh, this is an update, just because." I mean, come on! The whole reason people visit your blog is to READ something meaningful. Something that YOU have to say, something that you have your own special opinion on. If there's nothing to read, it's not really a blog is it? All I'm saying is, don't update when you have NOTHING whatsoever to say or tell. Updating just for the sake of it is not REALLY updating. Once again, this is just my personal opinion, as is everything else on this blog. Don't take it to heart. Just some advice for people out there.

Flashback #3 - The False Flashback

I was supposed to blog about this ages ago but I forgot. So since I'm sneaky, I will pass this off as a flashback. :D

The four of us (Josh, Dan, Jared, and I), we were stuck in Marks & Spencers because our parents were buying clothes. They don't buy clothes often but when they do, they take a LONG time. So we had nothing to do and after making fun of the male models, trying on shoes, poking around in the food section, and sitting down till our butts were sore, I found SUITS! They were actually for kids so they were in the kiddy section. (American people must be HUGE. :P) Obviously, WE TRIED THEM ON. Or rather, I gasped and got the boys to quickly come over and don them. LOL. In the end, it was quite a success. They all liked 'em and thought they were really comfortable. Daniel even went so far as to ask my dad to buy him one. More like begged really. But the suits were quite pricey and you can guess what my dad's answer was. NO! of course. Anyway, I tried one on too. Not sure whether it quite fit me or not but it was okay. I NEED ONE! Haha, but they're seriously comfortable. Now I know why Jaryl wears a suit all the time. Hehehe...

Oh man, I think I'm getting a headache.

Why in the hell do construction workers have to work on Saturdays?!!

Our neighbors have been doing renovation for the past few weeks or so and the noise is unbearable. The whole entire day (not exaggerating) is filled with sounds of drilling, hammering, and knocking. The walls in this house are very thin so you can literally hear EVERYTHING. Sometimes it gets so loud that when you go into the bathroom and stop up your ears, you can feel the floor and walls vibrating. Yes, it was like this the whole time we were at home this week. I tell you, I WANT TO SUE THEM!!! Too bad this ain't America. T.T I think I'm gonna go deaf. There was one day when we had to shout at each other and even then we couldn't hear ourselves.

Does anyone know of a way we can get them to stop? I tried shouting for them to shut up but it didn't work. (Probably 'cause no one heard me. >.>) Then I tried banging on the walls but that only made them stop for like few seconds.

HELP! My ears can't take much more of this.

Wasted (no, not the drunk kind)

It's almost the end of another day and I feel like I wasted it. I spent most of today on my laptop and sleeping and watching movies. I should have done some work!!! But I didn't. I am somewhat incapable of doing work at home. Feels like I'm trying to do work in a madhouse. There's no escape from the noise. Hah.

The movie I watched was 'Wargames: The Dead Code'. Maybe I'm just partial to movies that have computers and hackers and various instances of technology because I'm a geek and I live for that kind of thing, but I liked it. Never mind the far-fetched plot and one-sided story line, there were computers and the wonderful sound of fingers tapping on keyboards. What more can you ask for? :) Sorry, being a geek here.

I've known you for approximately eight years now. Haha, time flies. Just wanted to say welcome back to school. Hope you make many more happy memories and you enjoy every minute of being back. (I'm being cheesy, aren't I? Well, who cares . . .)
