Breakfast anyone?
Now that McDonald's has FREE WiFi and the above promotion going on, I feel I have to wake up at an insanely early hour and walk over to eat their hotcakes. Why the early hour? Breakfast starts early and I like the feeling of getting up when no one else is awake. Makes me feel like I'm going on holiday and I'm headed to the airport. Why the hotcakes? Well. I'M CRAVING PANCAKES WHAT ELSE DID YOU THINK IT WAS. The refillable coffee is a nice plus too. I will sit there, and eat, and drink, and surf the web till whatever time it is I have to get out. Anyone wanna come along? :)
i'd rather pick flowers instead of fights and break mirrors instead of promises.
Q: what's one thing you wouldn't be able to live without?
A: frivolity aside? baking soda. it has a thousand and one uses. no, probably a thousand and two.
i'm starting to like vintage clothing. reasons why:
1) almost all the pieces I find have a modest neckline with MODEST body coverage (aka actually wearable)
2) they're crafted from better material than those cheap china things many blogshops stock
3) they're CHEAP; cheaper, in fact, than most of the aforementioned cheap china things (yes, i associate china with CHEAP. got a problem with that?)
i'm slowly beginning to tick things off my TOBUY list. not surprisingly, three-quarter of those items are basics. i like "plain" clothing just like this person and this other person. therefore almost my entire closet = basics. just not the right ones yet. i don't like flashy, gaudy things. i like simple, clean and muted. though i will purchase the occasional flashy/gaudy item if i really like it. which sometimes does tend to happen.
lately my perspective on music has changed a little. i see music in the same light as shopping for things. what i mean is, you could go into a terrible-looking store with hideous contraptions in the window and yet find an utterly beautiful thing in the midst of it all. you could go into a shop that malaysians label "lala" and come out with a fantastic top or pair of bottoms that you found hanging on a lonesome rack in the back. basically my whole theory equates diamonds in the rough.
so now i'll listen to all kinds of music genres as long as i like the song. it could be from some rock metal band but if i like it, i like it. it goes on my ipod and stays there forever. i choose clothing the same way i choose music and i choose music the same way i choose clothing. i'm not afraid to go into stores people wouldn't dream of stepping into or download a song people consider too pop or too noisy or too mainstream or too whatever. i won't choose clothing based solely on its brand and likewise, i won't choose music based solely on the band or singer. I LIKE WHAT I LIKE (as long as i'm not being a stumbling block to anyone else). and you can find diamonds in the rough. anyone can. i guess it is in a way, sort of being optimistic. you can find good in a sea of bad. hah! i think i'm actually improving at this character building stuff.
i need to start helping people instead of judging them. sigh, i still have so much to do (improving my person).
i'm a soldier/wounded so i must give up the fight/there's nothing more for me/lead me away/or leave me lying here
Maggi Mee is banned in our home. Yesterday I broke the rules and now I have one cup of MAGGI® XTRA DELIXIOUS™ Cup Noodles tucked away beneath various t-shirts and dresses in my top drawer. Flavor? Penang Curry. I wanted to try Thai Tom Yam but meh. Personally, I can't wait to taste whatever slight difference there may be between regular Maggi noodles and the supposedly XTRA DELIXIOUS that costs XTRA BUCKEROONIESZ.
Now that I've confessed, I feel much better. LOL. When the time is right (aka when we run out of nice things to eat in the house, which happens A LOT), I will take out that precious plastic cup and pour boiling hot water into it. Then, of course, I'll wait for three minutes before stuffing my face and realizing I just ate up ALL of my emergency rations. Which was that one cup.
I think I'm going crazy. I wanted to twitter all that but realized the character limit just wasn't going to do it justice.
I slept late again last night. Woke up early this morning too. Now feeling like a zombieee. I wore my Converse out with no socks the other day (I WAS LAZY OKAY). Now I'm paying for it with two tiny yet extremely painful blisters on my fourth toe, right foot. And on such occasions, I turn to that small bottle of good ol' tea tree oil for comfort. Though it puzzles me why Jared insisted on applying it on my toe himself. Maybe he wanted to watch me suffer. Curses...
Marks & Spencer Minestrone Soup is RM8 heaven in a can. Goes well with two pieces of buttered toast and a spoon. I should know, I've eaten the exact meal twice already. I HEART MINESTRONE SOUP. ♥
It has also come to my attention recently that the only porridge I like is McDonald's Chicken Porridge (Bubur Ayam McD). I like it with lots of pepper and more salt than it normally comes with.
. . .
. . . . .
. . . . . . .
I think I just did a food post. With something about blisters in the middle. AHAHAHAHAHA. Okay.

CNY Resolutions?
Weird, I know. But I figured it's kinda too late for normal new year resolutions. Here we gooo...
1) drink more water
2) eat less junk
3) exercise more
4) become a nicer person
5) start reading again like I used to
6) shop less (online AND offline)
7) stop spending money I don't have (aka borrowing)
8) more work, less play
9) swim in evenings rather than afternoons
10) help more around the house
11) learn to cook bulgogi from mum (before she starts forgetting how to! @.@)
I'll update with more if I can remember. On a side note, everyone seems to like my haircut. :) Even David who came over for a swim today mentioned he liked it. Ha. Thanks everyboday! I'm glad~

Chic Pop: Street Market 3
Seven days after my birthday, Andy, Deborah, Josh and I visited this bazaar. I'd been to a Japanese bazaar before that was held in a hotel ballroom but of course, this one was a little bit more 'street'. :) There were many vendors and blogshops that brought their goods to sell offline. It was huge fun. I bought Deb this ring from Ring Apartment.
She wore it the next day to church and when I bumped into her there, she had already poked her brother and God knows who else. LOL. It makes for a marvelous self-defense object.
As for me, I was quite prepared to spend a substantial amount of money at Chic Pop since I wouldn't have to pay for postage like I normally do when shopping online. But FAIL. I ended up buying only two items. The first being a pre-loved tee from Baci Boutique, if I'm not mistaken. My inner geek just couldn't resist.
Too bad no one (so far) knows what Helvetica is. =.=
The second being a pair of clip-on earrings from one of my favourite blogshops, i-love-ewe. Half my collection of clip-on earrings are from there. Well, almost half. They have great vintage jewelry! :)
Both the owners of Ring Apartment and i-love-ewe are really nice people. Okay, I have to go swimming right now with my bros and Andy. I'll be back with more photos (of the so-called freebies I got) and what happened after the bazaar.

I want windows that look pretty and don't get dirty. Just more wishful thinking I suppose.
I have not fired up my laptop in ages. Which explains the lack of posts. My laziness knows no bounds; I have now resorted to twittering everything. *slaps self* Stop it, Rachel!
I bet my iPod feels abused. I'm practically on it almost the entire day. Oh well. Spent today out with Josh and Tim. We scoured KL for jackets and melted as we walked all over the city. Good thing I wore my Converse (which are getting more irritating by the day- I swear, the shoelaces come undone every five minutes!). However, the other day when we were getting Derick's Converse I did see a pair I liked. Must quickly put that thought to rest! The crap shoelaces aren't worth it. Though I would consider getting a new pair when my old ones die. They're good for rainy days when I don't want to get my feet wet. Thank you Converse, for your obnoxiously thick, high soles.
Have been constantly wearing my still kinda new black long sleeve v-neck top from F.O.S. recently. The thing is so comfy and oversized. :) By the way, I am so brown. I've been swimming like kerazy lately. Whenever I'm not in the pool, I feel like jumping in. No kidding. At random moments during the day, I feel like I just have to go swimming. I think I've got an addiction. Is it good? Hah. A good addiction. How oxymoronic. Yes, I'm aware that isn't a word. Whatever.
Tim's in ♥ with his new hoodie. I still can't believe it's his first hoodie ever. Who does that?! Tim. Of course.
I think it's high time I reload my phone credit. My service is going to get canceled soon. Yes, I haven't reloaded in that long. I don't use my phone. At all. On a side note, Google Reader is awesome. I suggest everyone jump on that bandwagon. It really helps when you have to catch up on updates- esp. online shopping ones. Another thought; online shopping is becoming a regular thing with me. Thank goodness the PosEkspres/PosLaju delivery men that cover my area aren't sloppy. They're actually quite efficient and polite. :) I wish more blogshop owners would follow their example. -sigh-
Short hair is so liberating. I don't think I'm ever gonna have long hair again. A quick sorry to all the people whose emails I haven't replied. I'll get to them soon. I hope. Sorray!
p.s.
Frasier is hilarious.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is ROFL kind of funny.
Everybody Wants To Be Italian and The Invention Of Lying are two big LOL movies.
Watch them all with laughter and potato chips in hand. Thanks for reading!

Written the night of Jan 29
The last three words of Isaiah 43:1 says, "You are Mine." His words are like wedding vows. I am yours and you are mine. To keep, forever.
Eternity. That's what we're living for. This life is only preparation for greater things and times to come.
Am currently stuck in the car on the way to Ikea and not relishing sitting down in the middle. I keep sliding down the seat like it's a slippery bank or something. I can't sit on the left side like I normally do 'cause we picked Josh up from MidValley and he had to hop in quick.
What do people always unwillingly get caught in on a daily basis? Traffic jams. My butt is getting sore. Not to mention my knee, which Jared is currently resting his chin and entire body weight on.
Well, we've got to make the best of every situation. I'm trying by reading the Bible on my iPod touch. Most of us don't realize what a privilege it is to have a Bible handy when we need one. Millions (billions?) of individuals have fought in our stead so we could have the precious gift we do today. Yet, sadly we let it go to waste on so many occasions.
Everyone in the car is now falling asleep or already asleep. A usual occurrence in traffic jams that transpire during the evening/at night. Our borrowed (ancient) Mercedes S Class is kind of like a dinosaur. Big, bulky, and sort of ugly. But no one's complaining. At least we HAVE a car. :)
Dan is now clinging onto my arm and possibly drooling on my shoulder. I'll see you in a bit...
Update! My brothers have now labeled me a female Sheldon. Reason being I always sit in the left seat in the back of the car ever since, well, forever. I never sit anywhere else and I feel off whenever I'm not in my usual place. Haha. Funny. My brothers have all gotten used to it and never get into the car on my side. LOL. They have been trained. :D I especially dislike riding shotgun, contrary to popular belief that everyone out there loves riding shotgun. Feels extra, extra weird. And no, there are no logical reasons for my personal preference of seating.
Had yummy tomato vegetarian pasta and of course, meatballs at Ikea. (I personally think Ikea is the cheapest place you can go for pasta.) My family... we go to Ikea for the gastronomic rather than the shopping experience. We've been eating their meatballs for a LONG time.. I remember when I was a little girl and Ikea was still an outlet in 1 Utama. Their restaurant was a tiny, tiny little cafe. We always had problems with seating but there was no where else to get those meatballs. So year after year after year we've been making sporadic visits to get our fix. :) Ikea food is delicious and cheap considering the quality and cleanliness of their food, imho.
Oops, we're home. Yes, I did type all this out on my tiny iPod touch QWERTY keyboard (not in landscape mode). Takes practice but you get used to it. Just turn off auto-correction and you'll be excellent in no time at all.

random thoughts meant to be posted yesteryear
after a long conversation consisting of 90% my mum and 10% me,
i go: wow, you actually stopped talking...
she goes: ya i know. very difficult for me.
HAHA. but it's fun listening to her sometimes. did you know her mum treated the king (long story short) and got a medal for it? i saw the thing. it's old and dirty but 925silver y'all!
she has some amazing stories. you could listen all day really. except i'm quite tired of her voice being i've lived with her for, let's see.. my entire life?
why are people never who they seem? you think they're this, but they're that. you think they're good, but they're in fact, bad. c'est la vie. c'est la vie.
i figure i need some jewelry pliers. are they expensive? anyone know where to get them? you know where to find me...
i want to see the above in real life one day.
wouldn't it be just so fantastically spectacular?
and so much better than the picture i bet.

but it came down like a tidal wave
Right now, there is little I enjoy more than the wind, rain, orangey sunsets and swimming. Nature truly is God's gift to man. (Too bad it almost always makes me break out in rashes. Eczema sucks.)
So earlier Daniel kicked Joshua off the edge of the pool and he landed right on my head. No kidding. He weighs over 60kg and he landed on my head as I was surfacing and smashed my whole body downwards. The impact was so great I couldn't move for awhile and struggled to get to the surface. After I breached the top of the water, I still couldn't speak and just shuddered as the ripple of the impact went through my body again and again. My back hurt like hell; not so much my head. Till now, hours later, my back still hurts. I hope it heals. I would hate to have a back injury haunting me my entire life. I know people who have that and it's not fun. I prayed for healing. I hope God says yes. Every time I arch my back it hurts and I kind of feel like vomiting. It's weird... I really, really hope it's nothing.
Then again, if I perish, I perish. Sooner to Heaven I go. I guess it's a good thing. Anyway, onto less morbid topics... It's one in the morning and I'm still up. I'm probably the only one left who hasn't konked out yet. I also think this is the result of David keeping me up with his sniffling, scratching and moaning till 5AM the other day. I am NEVER sleeping in the same room as that boy again. NEVER. No offense.
Ah great. Now my internal body clock is screwed again. I hate this planet.
Random fact: my nails are currently covered in Revlon's Plum Seduction, no. 917.
My iPod touch seems to be draining battery like bathwater since the jailbreak. I feel like restoring it to its old self. Any thoughts? I don't particularly find any MAJOR improvements in jailbreaking. Or maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. @.@
p.s.
Lerry? If you're reading this, I'm sorry I didn't comment on that birthday post you did me. I kept trying to but ended up deleting everything. I think I prefer emails. I LOVE IT THOUGH- YOUR POST I MEAN. Thank you, girlfriend! :D (Even though Zach looks really traumatized in that photo. :o) I've probably touched your present more than anyone else's 'cause it's on my iPod touch. I LOVE THE PRESENT TOO. LOTS. lol ALSO, ISN'T AUNTY LILY GOOD AT TEACHING? I don't know anyone else who can get people to score so well and talk as much as she does. 0.0
p.p.s.
God? Please heal my back. Please, please, please.

the tide is high but i'm holding on...
...I'M GONNA BE YOUR NUMBER ONE
It's my little brother's birthday today!!!! :D He's turning twelve. And getting big. I do wish they'd all stay small so I could envelop them in huge bear hugs forever. Oh well, BLESSED BIRTHDAY DANIEL. May all your dreams come true. (Not the silly Maple ones where you have bajillions of mesos. >.>)
Beeteedoubleyou, I love Dan's computer keyboard. T.T It makes typing deliciously quick and it's wireless too. Hooray for the ability to walk around blindly in Maple whilst standing in the front door.
Interesting HAHAHA/facepalm moment that transpired last night:
Daniel's tooth came out right before we bought tickets to see Tooth Fairy. (The movie does have its stupidly funny moments.. in case you're thinking of going to see it.)
